Paula Benveniste was born and educated in England where she studied Fine Arts and Education. She has exhibited in Israel, New York City and London.

She came to Israel in the seventies and since then the challenge and struggle to find identity as an artist, as an Israeli, as herself, is recorded in her works.

Her path meanders through twenty years of figurative painting to a coming out in the form of mixed media collages, a reconnection to malleable forms, and a joyous adventure with "the object" in building assemblages.

She has recently returned to the canvas as an abstract artist and is trying to misbehave.
